Sunday School for adults meets during the school year at 9:45 am and during the summer at 9:00 am. Three strong classes offer a variety of biblical subject matters and styles of teaching. Our Dudley Class is our longest consistently running class who use a lectionary based Presbyterian curriculum. Our Emmaus class uses straight Bible studies as well as topical studies and occasional video discussion starter tools. Our McKinnon class uses the Bible and other resources to read through books of the Bible verse by verse with lively discussion on the pertinence to our lives today. Each adult class warmly welcomes newcomers, even if it’s only to get a flavor of their class.
(PW) at FPC is a ministry of women of all ages who enjoy fellowship, service and Bible study. We meet in ‘Circles’ during the morning (10:00 am) and evening (5:30 pm) on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from September until May. The PW work in small groups/teams to provide ministries of service to the church like preparing the sanctuary for worship, supporting families during times of loss and grief, and providing for special events. All of PW‘s ministries of service are avenues of opportunity to strengthen our friendships and our connections. All women are warmly invited to participate, whether in the ministry of fellowship, service, or Bible study.
Women’s Bible Study gathers 2 Thursday mornings each month (usually the first and third Thursday) at 10:00 am for an hour of study and fellowship. Using a variety of study materials, the group chooses their course of study, typically in 4 to 8 session increments. From women’s issues in biblical times and our own, to studying verse by verse, to using a topical book or study guide, the various leaders of WBS keep the lessons meaningful so each woman’s faith may be enriched.
Presbyterian Men (PM) gather at various times throughout the year to fellowship (Barbeque or Frogmore Stew anyone?) together and to help with service and ministry/mission to others. Men are also warmly encouraged to attend with a go cup of coffee in hand, an early Friday morning Bible study in our Fellowship Hall at 6:30 am.
