About the Weekday School
Since 1968, the Weekday School has served as a cherished ministry of First Presbyterian Church in Wilson. Our outstanding program offers:
- Mother’s Morning Out (MMO) classes for children who are walking and at least 1 year old by
August 31. - A developmental preschool program for 2, 3, and 4-year-old children.
- A kindergarten program for children who are 5 by August 31.
Our dedicated and experienced staff members are committed to nurturing each child’s growth in a loving, positive, and secure environment. Through age-appropriate activities, children are encouraged to explore, learn, and thrive while having fun.
We also offer an enrichment program featuring special visitors, field trips, and hands-on activities that extend learning beyond the classroom, providing children with a rich and engaging educational experience.
Requirements
In order to begin a 3 or 4-year-old class, children must:
- be 3 years old for 3-year-old classes or 4 years old for 4-year-old classes by August 31
- be able to sit quietly and listen on the carpet for 2-3 minutes (3’s) and 5-6 minutes (4’s)
- be socially and emotionally well adjusted
- be able to take corrections and follow instructions
- be able to process language, be mentally alert, and be physically qualified as certified by a physician
- be potty trained
In order to begin a kindergarten class, children must:
- be 5 years old by August 31
- be able to listen and participate during carpet time for 30 minutes (includes singing, dancing, etc.)
- be able to work independently after instruction
- be able to transition smoothly from different activities
- be able to follow the daily schedule
- be socially/emotionally well adjusted
- be able to take corrections and follow instructions
- be able to process language
- be mentally alert and physically qualified, as certified by a physician
School Hours
9 am -12 pm for all Mothers’ Morning Out and preschool classes
8 am -2 pm for kindergarten
Early Drop-Off
Early Drop-Off is available upon request for those who need childcare before classes begin. Early Drop-Off is in the MMO classroom from 8:00 am to 8:50 am. An invoice will be sent at the beginning of each month.
Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch is available until 1:30 pm on Wednesdays for the 3 and 4-year-old classes. An invoice will be sent at the beginning of each month.
2026-2027 Registration Information
- Applications are reviewed in the order they’re received.
- Acceptance is based on availability; if a class is full, new applications are added to the waiting list.
- If your application is accepted, you’ll receive an invoice for the registration fee.
- The registration fee must be paid within 2 hours of receiving the invoice.
- Your child’s enrollment is official only after payment is completed.
- Because classes fill quickly, enrollment is strictly first-come, first-served.
Registration for 2026-2027 opens on January 28, 2026.
