Committee Leadership for 2009-10 Six Sessional committees and four diaconal ministries provide support for the mission of the church. Below is a list of the elders and deacons who support these committees. Your participation is encouraged and requested! SESSION
Clerk of Session, Perry Morrison
Christian Education plans the education year, recruits teachers and supports the youth ministry - Kelly Gunter (chair), Mike Kennedy, Diane Bradshaw. The Weekday School Board oversees the ministry of the First Presbyterian Weekday School Gail Douglas (chair).
Finance manages the churchs budget - Winniett Peters (chair), David Woodard, Beth Freshwater-Smith. The Stewardship sub-committee plans the yearly stewardship campaign - Tom Boyd (chair), Jennifer Lantz, along with deacons, Beth Dollar, Virgil Kornegay-Lewis, Jonathan Thorndyke.
Worship supports the music ministry, manages our two weekly services and tends to weddings and funerals - Carolyn Hornick (chair), Ann Dolman, Vickie Osborn, along with deacons Adam Wilhelm, Bill Blackman, Hallie Land.
Mission sets goals and manages our missions both locally and abroad - Kathy James (chair), Ray Paul, Rebecca Hawley.
Property oversees and tends to our large physical property - Sid Bruton (chair), Scott Benson, Rob Edmundson.
Administration manages our church staff and other church administrative issues - Jesse Powell (chair), Jack Wiggins. Diaconate

Community Ministries coordinates services opportunities here in Wilson - Jeremy Tucker, Jolly Barnes, Michelle Kennedy.
Congregational Care Ministries cares for church members going through a variety of special circumstances - Sue Garrison, Wren Vanden Bosch, Kelly Fogleman.
Cong. Fellowship Ministries plans Wednesday Night Dinner programs and other large fellowship events - Kevin Whalen, Zack Wiggins, Chris Bolt, Tillie Brockwell.
Welcome Ministries reaches out to visitors and encouraged new members in assimilating to church life - Lee Ann Madar, Sam Lanier, Heather Nicol, Mary Kathryn Quinn.
