The church committees meet in the Church Library on an on-call basis, usually monthly.

SESSION

Administration
Charlie Mauze, Chair
Responsible for all matters related to the staff of the church - job performance and review, salaries, continuing education, administrative policies and procedures and work of the church office, at-large committee staffing, long-range planning, scholarships, bulletins and publications, insurance, FPC Weekday School, and oversight of all church organizations and relationships with other church governing bodies.

Christian Education
 Sheila Wiggins, Chair
Responsible for church school, youth ministry, camps and conferences, Vacation Bible School, nurseries, church library, leadership recruitment and development and liason with all scouting programs.

DenomLeadership-Denominational Ministries
Dave Doleman, Chair
Responsible for encouraging officer participation in New Hope Presbytery and its mission, promoting global missions, making denominational benevolence recommendations to the Finance Committee, promoting the 2 Cents A Meal Program, serving as the primary linkage to ECU Campus Ministry, promoting support for Union-PSCE and Camp Albemarle, and providing training for new members.

Finance
Frank Batten, Chair
Responsible for developing the “grace of liberality” in the giving patterns of the families of the congregation, receiving and counting the weekly offering, developing the annual church budget, monitoring the church budget throughout the year, stewardship education and every member canvas.

Property
Mike Thatcher, Chair
Responsible for building maintenance, equipment inspection, evaluation and maintenance, church grounds, revolving preventative maintenance and equipment acquisition. 

Worship
Susan Boyette, Chair
Responsible for regular and special worship services, the music program of the church, sacraments, welcoming baptized children to the Lord’s Table, preparation of parents for baptism, seasonal emphasis appropriate to church year, guest ministers, the maintenance of divine worship, acolytes and their training, ushering and offering.

DIACONATE

Community Ministries
Kathy Vaughn, Chair
Responsible for community ministries to those in distress, crisis assistance, initiation and implementation of community ministry projects, the shelter, nurture and spiritual fellowship of the children of God. The Community Ministries Committee delivers meals to shut-ins once a month on a Saturday. To volunteer for this important ministry, please contact Beverly Durrer.


Congregational Ministries
Dianne Bradshaw, Chair
Responsible for home and family nurture programs, development of ministries of fellowship, support, and compassion within the congregation, crisis assistance to persons within the congregation, congregational dinners, Young Adult group, Club Plus activities, the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God.

Membership
Leslie Spencer, Chair
Responsible for recruitment and assimilation of new members, evangelism visitation teams, promotional materials used in evangelism, ways to implement increased participation in the work and worship of the church through increased stewardship of time and talent resources of the congregation, the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind, congregational events to recognize and welcome new members.
